Item Description

14.5" x 8.25" x .75"

Pencil on paper

Mary Kosowski is a graduate of RISD and has also received certification in elementary education from RIC and the University of RI. She has taught in the Cumberland school system for 24 years and was on the RISD Continuing Education faculty. She has won numerous awards and has exhibited at the Copley So. of Boston, the Newport Art Museum, the Mystic Art Association, and others. Her work is in numerous collections in the US and abroad.

I have always been drawn to the human figure - enthralled by images I observed by artists wherever I found them. From the time I could hold a pencil and strive to make it do my bidding, I have been drawing people. Most artists find the figure too difficult and turn to other concepts in art but I welcomed the challenge passionately and finally feel successful in my accomplishments.
