Item Description

16" x 15"

Monoprint

Jane Lincoln earned her MFA from Mass College of Art & Design.  She recently exhibited in An Abstract View at the Court House Cultural Center Galleries, Stuart, FL, 100 Works on Paper at the Kentler International Drawing Space, Brooklyn, NY and Piece by Piece II at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, MA.  The Cove Gallery in Wellfleet & Chatham, MA and the Kingston Gallery, Boston, MA represents her work.

I concentrate on the precision of color and the intrigue of color relationships.  My series of paintings, Color Zones, are assembled bands of color. While a strong color combination is clearly visible, more subtle color relationships can be observed. As the viewer interacts with a painting, colors will shift, razor thin edges will appear, and vibrations can occur. My intention is to enliven colors to become a comprehensive experience.
