Cement
Elizabeth White studied art at College of Marin & continued study of drawing & painting at Art Students League & JoAnne Day Studio. She partnered with Tom Hoving, former director of Metropolitan Museum of Art & editor-in-chief of Connoisseur Magazine, to create arts programming for T.V. She is currently living & working in CT, exhibiting nationally & happy to be a part of the AAM community.
Each year Elizabeth White has life-cast a few selected leaf forms growing around her CT studio. Now, inspired by ever growing migration populations, she is formulating a multi-media piece that speaks to the splitting and shifting of groups of people. These cement leaves are a metaphor for scattered individuals away from their roots & are a key element in this current conceptual work-in-progress.
