Board CatalystâÂ?  Board Assessment

In today’s climate, a healthy, engaged, and responsive board is the foundation for sustainability.  And for nonprofits to thrive and grow, a new kind of board leadership is required.  Today’s board leadership needs the right talent and mind-set to execute vision and strategy, and to work generatively and collaboratively toward community-wide solutions and priorities.

The Board CatalystâÂ?  Institute believes effective board governance and strong board leadership center on mastery in these five (5) essential areas for the board:

Purpose

Education

Architecture

Results

Leadership

How it Works

First, we will work with a designated board committee to design an assessment survey that explores areas critical to successful board leadership such as strategy, board composition, board structure, board protocols and policies, regular evaluation of meetings and leadership. When finalized, we will send the assessment survey out to the entire board electronically. Once all board members have had the chance to participate, we will take survey results and prepare a detailed results summary with recommendations.
