Item Description

The Sisters of the Holy Family, established in San Francisco in 1872, were founded with the mission (which continues today) “to seek out and advocate for the poor and needy, especially families, for the kingdom of God.”

The Sisters of the Holy Family are best remembered in their early years for the day care and religious education provided for children of working parents and the poor.

For more than a century Sisters of the Holy Family have continued to seek out new ways to respond to the changing needs of families and children.

Committed especially to serve families and children, the Sisters of the Holy Family were pioneers in the establishment of quality and affordable child care (1878) long before its widespread existence today.

The Sisters of the Holy Family take strong local and national leadership in religious education for children, adults and the physically and mentally challenged. In addition, the Sisters of the Holy Family are involved in advocacy for affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.

The Sisters’ ministries include: Grief Counseling, Hospital Chaplaincy, Religious Education Programs, Childcare, Parish Administration, Social Work, Personal Growth, Spiritual Direction and a host of collaborative projects to meet emerging needs without neglecting the ministries of the past.

All the funds raised during this Online Auction will be put to good use in the Mission Fund, funding programs that serve immigrant, marginalized or simply low-income families. The Sisters also minister to shut-ins, those who are grieving and those who have loved ones who are ill or dying.

Your contribution here will go directly into the Mission Fund.
