Item Special Note
The artist is a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians on the Qualla Reservation in Cherokee, NC. She is largely self-taught with no formal training other than a class at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian and some apprentice training from local potters for making big pots. She has won awards in both the Cherokee Indian Fall Festival as well as the Southeastern Tribes Festival.
