Item Description

Enjoy a three-night stay at Dryad Cottage in Black Mountain between December and April 2016.

In Greek mythology, a dryad is a tree spirit, and that spirit resides in this cozy getaway. Dryad Cottage is the result of an extensive 2015 renovation on an early Black Mountain home. There are 17-foot ceilings in the living room and kitchen area, all-new windows and flooring, a large loft, new A/C and heat, new plumbing and electricity, entirely renovated kitchen and bathroom, and the addition of a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. Designed for outdoor living, the cottage features a 400+ square foot covered deck with outdoor dining table and chairs, in addition to a smaller front porch.

Clean, bright, and compact, Dryad Cottage is a few hundred yards from Lake Tomahawk, with walking trails, a playground, a pavilion, croquet, and a public pool. It’s just a five-minute walk to the Black Mountain Golf Course, and a 15-minute walk to historic downtown Black Mountain. Asheville is only twenty minutes away, and Montreat is three miles up the road.

Come enjoy this sweet little house, friendly Appalachian town, and the beautiful mountains that surround them.
