Item Description
One of a kind collectable of Ferdinand winning the 112th Kentucky Derby in 1986 with program signed by his Hall of Fame connections, jockey Bill Shoemaker and trainer Charlie Whittingham. The following year, Ferdinand would beat 1987 Kentucky Derby winner Alysheba in the Breeders' Cup Classic to win Horse of the Year honors. In 2002, Ferdinand was sent to slaughter in Japan. His fate sparked awareness to the plight of retired Thoroughbred racehorses and the need for organizations like the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. This tribute of Ferdinand's Kentucky Derby is matted and framed. 20 x 26" and 7lbs.
