Item Description
Wiñay Wayna is an Inca site that sits on an elevated perch overlooking the Urubamba River that is located on the Incan trail to Machu Picchu
The ruins consist of upper and lower house clusters, interconnected by a long, precipitous staircase with accompanying fountain structures, often referred to as "baths." A large area of agricultural terraces lies just north of the house-staircase complex. In addition to the terraced fields, the system also has a religious and residential district.
In the Quecha language Wiñay Wayna means "forever young". The photo captures the beauty of this meaning.
Framed size 15"x 20"
