Item Description
This watercolor, named “The Cupolas”, is donated by Phil Hermansen, art director for the Utah Shakespeare Festival. It was part of the Farewell Exhibit for the Adams Shakespeare Theatre.
"I decided to illustrate the very recognizable roof-line and flags of the Adams Theatre, because it was always a strong representation of the world that the Festival created. A world that took you back in time and then made you laugh, cry, think about life, and just create wonderful memories."
Phil has been the art director for the Festival for the last twenty years. During this time he has won multiple Pinacle Awards and Inovators Awards for graphic design of brochures and souvenir programs.
"The Festival is a great place to work because of the people you get to work with and the people you meet who are coming to enjoy the plays. I hope you’ll remember your Festival experience when you look at this watercolor."
