Five 1-hour introductory chess lessons from a current Maitripa College student, plus a standard tournament level chess set to keep!
Young or old, the potential benefits of playing chess are many!
Lessons will cover the rules of the game, board set-up, piece movement and relative value, checkmate, move notation, clock function, basic tactics, basic opening theory, and a few endgame tips.
Instructor is a USCF class-C level (1400-1599 rating) player and second board (of five board team) on 3-time Georgia high school scholastic state champion team.

Lessons given in Portland area and can accommodate 1-2 people.
