"Charles Eugene "Pat" Boone[1] (born June 1, 1934) is an American singer, composer, actor, and writer, television personality, motivational speaker and spokesman. He was a successful pop singer in the United States during the 1950s and early 1960s. He sold over 45 million albums, had 38 Top 40 hits and appeared in more than 12 Hollywood films.

According to Billboard, Boone was the second biggest charting artist of the late 1950s, behind only Elvis Presley but ahead of Ricky Nelson and the Platters, and was ranked at No. 9—behind the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney but ahead of artists such asAretha Franklin and the Beach Boys—in its listing of the Top 100 Top 40 Artists 1955–1995.[2] Boone still holds the Billboard record for spending 220 consecutive weeks on the charts with one or more songs each week.

At the age of twenty-three, he began hosting a half-hour ABC variety television series, The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom, which aired for 115 episodes (1957–1960). Many musical performers, including Edie Adams, Andy Williams, Pearl Bailey and Johnny Mathismade appearances on the show. His cover versions of rhythm and blues hits had a noticeable effect on the development of the broad popularity of rock and roll. In 1955 Elvis Presley was the opening act for a show in Cleveland starring Pat Boone.[3]

As an author, Boone had a No. 1 bestseller in the 1950s (Twixt Twelve and Twenty, Prentice-Hall). In the 1960s, he focused ongospel music and is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He continues to perform and speak as a motivational speaker, a television personality, and a conservative political commentator."

Pat Boone: Duets – 60th Anniversary Certified Limited Edition LP & CD

In the years immediately prior to the British Invasion, only one performer rivaled the chart dominance of Elvis Presley, and that was Pat Boone. With his trademark white buck shoes, perfectly combed hair and gleaming smile, Boone was the very essence of wholesome American values, and at a time when the rise of Rock ‘n Roll was viewed as a sign of the Apocalypse, he made the music appear safe and non-threatening, earning some 38 Top 40 hits in the process.

In 1957 Pat Boone began hosting his own ABC television series, The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom. The half-hour variety show aired from October 3, 1957 to June 23, 1960 and featured the young star [at the time the youngest person to host their own network variety program] and a host of top-name guest stars. In all, there were 115 episodes. On the series finale Boone announced that his family was moving from New York in the summer of 1960 to settle in Los Angeles.

In this special collection of never-before-released LIVE recordings, Pat has hand picked 13 memorable performances that pay tribute to some of the best music and entertainers of that time.

"Love his music, Love his testimony, Love the man!"

One of my favorites from the 50s,  April 7, 2014
I admit it- I've always been a big fan of Pat Boone. Very few performers of that era captured the essence of non-rock songs the way he did. His voice was warm and sincere. This CD brings his talent back very well; I recommend it to other fans.

  I LOVE PAT BOONE!,  February 7, 2014

This is such a great CD! - Pat Boone was a part of my teenage years - these are all original recordings, so they're just exactly as I remember them! - I loved his clean-cut good looks, his velvety-smooth baritone voice, and he just seemed like such a nice guy! - I would have loved to have seen him live back in the day - and I really liked his acting! - loved him in "April Love" with Shirley Jones - I'm so glad he's still with us on this earth! - If you loved Pat Boone and still do, you'll not be disappointed!
