Item Description
The Titans used the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft on Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. He enters his rookie campaign with the expectation of starting from day one, and if he does so, he will become the first player in franchise history to open his rookie season as the starting quarterback. The 6-foot-4-inch, 222-pound signal caller is the fifth Heisman Trophy winner to be drafted by the OilersfTitans, joining Billy Cannon, Earl Campbell, Mike Rozier and Eddie George. At Oregon, Mariota broke nearly every major passing record for the school, totaling 10,796 career passing yards and 105 touchdown passes. The three-time AII-Pac-12 selection started every game over his three collegiate seasons, earned a 36-5 record, completed at least one touchdown pass in every game, and is one of four players in FBS history to pass for 10,000 yards and rush for 2,000 yards (2,237) in a career, joining Dan LeFevour, Robert Griffin Ill and Colin Kaepernick.
