Season includes: SEE ROCK CITY (Jan 27- Feb 14); THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE (Mar 2 - Mar 20); BROADWAY CONCERT SERIES: CHILDREN OF EDEN (Apr 2- Apr 3); EXTRAS (Apr 13 - May 1); RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET (Oct 26 - Nov 13). Now approaching its 17th Season, Rubicon is regarded as the countys premiere stage company and is the largest arts organization in the City of Ventura with a current annual budget of just over $2 million. The company has sold more than 370,000 tickets, has a subscriber base of approximately 2,000 and has had an accumulative economic impact on the community of over $42 million. In keeping with its mission to entertain, enrich and educate, it has served over 42,000 students through its education outreach arm and has provided area residents and visitors with more than 110 main-stage productions of classic and contemporary dramas, comedies and musicals as well as new works. Rubicon has won numerous regional and national awards including a prestigious Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue, the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Margaret Harford Award for Sustained Excellence, 15 Ovation Awards and the Ventura Chamber of Commerces Poinsettia Award for Non-Profit of the Year. Most recently Rubicon staff member, Katharine Farmer won a Santa Barbara Indy Award for her direction of The Last Train to Nibroc.
