Item Description
Jigmed Tubtel, a Tibetan student currently at Whitworth University, came to Spokane Wishington from Tibet with his teacher, Lama Lakshey Zangpo Rinpoche. He is majoring in education in order to reform the Tibetan educational system. Jigmed Tubtel learned calligraphy when he was 14 years old at Sengdruk Taktse School, Amdo, Tibet. He has since then studied different styles of Tibetan monastic and lay calligraphy. He has won several awards for his work from his school and prefecture. Through his art he wants to share the beauty of Tibetan culture and knowledge.
