Item Description
Arriving from central Italy... Abruzzo - near Rome, the founders of The Allegro brought with them the ancient tradition of "Panarda", a dinner meal, the origins of which go back to pagan antiquity. The Allegro Restaurant opened its doors on November 16, 1978 when Dan and Gloria Taddei, owners and operators of The Allegro Restaurant in Altoona, PA, founded the restaurant with Chef Philip Delloso (Gloria's father), drawing on years of experience from Erculiani's Restaurant in Gallitzin, PA and DelGrosso's restaurant in Tipton, PA.
The family business serves fine-dining meals Monday through Saturday, preferring to keep Sunday's closed for relaxing and family time. The Allegro specialties include award-winning veal dishes, succulent steaks, and homemade pastas and desserts. Their extensive menu with more than 50 entrees is sure to please everyone at the table.
The Allegro is firmly committed to accommodating your special needs and the staff is eager to make your dining experience a most memorable one. Fine cuisine is not just their profession or hobby... it's their way of life! So enjoy a $50 Gift Card and transport yourself to Italy for an evening!
