Item Description
These all school collaborative student art series consists of three adorned bison skulls that are tied together by the overall theme ‘Habitat’. Elementary school students connected their art work to the theme by selecting gemstones of the earth that the bison once walked. Middle School and ninth and tenth grade students engaged in Zentangle-practices before they applied their India-ink designs onto the skull. Students used this meditative art form to acquire a feeling of harmony within themselves and within their surrounding habitat and all the living beings that encompass it. Eleventh and twelfth grades had the honor of applying a distinct image of the actual bison habitat with watercolors. Finally, the Pre-K students attached the bison horns to the skulls with corresponding, aesthetic materials.
