Item Description
A Fantastic Time with Genevieve Welsh and Thomas Brown, for 8
--tomato tasting at Forni Brown Welsh Gardens
--dinner at Thomas and Genevieve's with great BBQ and brilliant wines from Thomas' cellar
We've all been wine tasting, and many of us have had the pleasure of olive oil tasting...But WHO has ever had the opportunity to attend a Tomato Tasting?
Join Genevieve Welsh at Forni Brown Welsh Gardens for a tasting of rare and heirloom tomatoes. Genevieve’s father Barney was a co-founder of this company, purveyors of organic produce to The French Laundry and most of the Napa Valley’s best restaurants for over 50 years. Their produce is a source of pride for Calistogans, who wouldn’t dream of having a garden with anything BUT plants from Forni Brown Welsh. Barney will regale you with stories from years of farming, tomato cultivation and all things "dirty".
After that, take a casual stroll down the street to Genevieve and Thomas' Calistoga home, and get ready to eat very, very well. Eating and drinking well is something that Calistogans take pretty seriously…so get ready for a BBQ of epic proportions and all the fixin’s at Thomas and Genevieve’s home, prepared by favorite local chef, Josh Mitchell. The food will be delicious, and you know that Thomas will bring out some of the best of his Rivers-Marie wines to complement, and some surprises, too.
Thomas and Genevieve have cleared their calendars and this lot is available on August 2, 9, 16, 2016.
Other dates are subject to availability and prior arrangement with the donors and the chef.
