Item Description
Two bottles 2009 L’Angevin Chardonnay – Laughlin Family Vineyard - Russian River Valley.
Robbie Meyer and Alan Pierson founded L’Angevin in 2002, when they left the Peter Michael winery. The name L’Angevin, which means Angel Wine in French, was Robbie’s mother’s family name. Their vision was to seek out mature vineyards in cool climates and combine diligent vineyard care with classical winemaking techniques. That they’ve done in spades, and this vintage of Russian River Chardonnay is living proof. Wild yeast barrel fermented. 100% malolactic. Aged 15 months, sur lie, in French oak (55% new). Unfined. Unfiltered. 450 cases. Bright golden color. Pears, pineapple, lemon, tropical fruits and wood spices. Beautiful crisp, ripe entry. Fleshy and complex. Mouthwatering. Full bodied. Nice texture. Ripe creamy figs and melon. Mineral, hazelnuts and spice. Long, lingering finish and aftertaste. A winner all the way.
