The Sanford-Springvale YMCA has served area families since 1947, offering a wide range of programs for all ages. As the communities we serve have evolved, our YMCA has grown to meet their needs through offering innovative programs and activities that promote the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
From humble beginnings on the 4th floor of Sanford’s Town Hall, the Sanford-Springvale YMCA has grown into its present River Street facility, the Ethel Trafton Levasseur YMCA. This facility offers a six-lane swimming pool, state of the art fitness equipment for our group fitness and physical fitness centers, comprehensive childcare facilities, sauna, locker rooms, multi-purpose rooms and outdoor recreation areas.
In addition to its modern health club, the YMCA provides swimming lessons, summer camps, daycare, programs for seniors, outdoor education, community development activities and many other enriching programs. At the Sanford-Springvale YMCA, there is something valuable for everyone, and this is reflected in the growing membership and vitality of our YMCA.
The Sanford-Springvale YMCA offers programs and activities for all ages. The Sanford-Springvale YMCA owns and operates the Trafton Senior Center located on Elm St. in Sanford. The Trafton Senior Center offers a variety of programs from social clubs to health and wellness classes.
