Item Description

50 pound bag of Premium Japanese Short Grain rice used by top restaurants and grown in Uruguay by two Japanese rice masters.

In 2011, Michelin-awarded sushi chef Mori Onodera partnered with Japanese rice expert and farmer, Ichiro Tamaki, to establish Tamaki Farms in Uruguay.  Due to the ideal climate and water supply in Uruguay, the moisture retention and texture of each grain is superb.  The aroma and mild sweetness make it satisfying even when served plain without any seasoning or condiments.

In order to preserve its fresh quality, store the rice in a tight sealed container and keep refrigerated.  Otherwise, keep in a cool dark place.

You can read an article about this rice and the chefs who use it in the LA Times.
