The only thing better than enjoying a wonderful lobster feast from John Sorenson is getting to enjoy it in one of our most authentic settings at the top of the valley, in Calistoga -- Lava Vine Winery.

At the corner of the Silverado Trail and ‘Main Street’ in Calistoga there is a funky, down-home winery called Lava Vine. This gem of a winery is owned by Rudy Von Strasser whose gracious hospitality is part of the property’s authentic charm.

Then, you have John and Pete. They tend to the winemaking and conduct tastings that are legendary for the fun that takes place -- most often, a spontaneous musical jam session ensues. Moonlight Daydream -- aka John and Pete -- offer up a heartwarming blend of eclectic Americana, mixing guitar, banjo-with-bow, trombone and sweet vocal harmonies. They are an institution at Lava Vine, and now we are fortunate to have them play for us.

Lava Vine is a spectacular setting for this lobster feast, for 20 guests, brought to you by St. Helena’s own John “The Lobster King” Sorensen. John and his team will prepare a Lobster Feast that is the talk of the town, featuring (of course) fresh whole Maine live lobsters and prawns, with artichokes, corn and Louisiana hot links thrown in for good measure. Add to that fresh sour-dough baguettes and drawn butter, and complete the picture with wines from Lava Vine and a few other authentic Family Vineyards .... and of course, bubbles and beer, and San Francisco’s favorite It’s It for dessert.

So, gather up 20 of your favorite party folks, the ones prepared to enjoy music, good wine and a crustacean feast. We’ll have the bibs ready, so you get your group ready to enjoy and tap your toes.

It will be an afternoon not to be missed!

Item Special Note

To be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date, in the early afternoon. This lobster feast is not available on Saturdays from May through September, 2016. All other days subject to the availability of Lava Vine Winery and John Sorensen. Since this feast is best enjoyed and will be served outdoors, weather conditions should be considered.

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable in the date of sale. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell wine. Sales tax will be collected on the fair market value of each lot which contains tangible goods.
