Item Description
Enjoy musical satire in a historic setting with four tickets to Urinetown: The Musical at the charming Richey Suncoast Theatre in downtown New Port Richey!
These tickets are for the 8:00 p.m. performance on Friday, May 13, 2016. The seats are I-13 - I-16 on the Main Floor.
Urinetown: The Musical is a dark satire based on a brutal water shortage that forces everyone to pay a fee to urinate — or else be hauled off to the hideous Urinetown. It skewers the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement and municipal politics, with parodies of well-known social commentary musicals like Les Miserables and The Threepenny Opera.
The historic Richey Suncoast Theatre opened in 1926 as the Meighan Theatre, named after silent film star Thomas Meighan. Sound movies premiered at the Meighan Theatre in March 1930. After stints as The Vogue and The Cinema, the theater re-opened in 1972 as a theater featuring live productions under the name Richey Suncoast Theatre. Today, the completely renovated Richey Suncoast's gold dome is a centerpiece of historic downtown New Port Richey.
