Item Description
This is an opportunity for a mature child who might be considering a career as a Vet to see what happens in a veterinary practice.
The child will spend up to 2 hours with Dr. Wissel at Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital watching what happens behind the scenes. Maybe you will see a surgery or a sore tooth removed, maybe you will see a pet get vaccines or help read x-rays, maybe you will bet to see what bacteria looks like under the microscope or how a technician trims the nails of an uncooperative dog.
Item Special Note
- FOR A MATURE CHILD ONLY! This item is open to students in Grades 5-12 either current Mason-Rice Students or MR Alum Only.
- Commonwealth is a busy hospital and we cannot predict what will happen each morning - visitors are likely to see blood, needles and animals in stress or even pain.
- Please note that this visit is at your own risk due to the unpredictable nature of what may occur.
- Visitors are expected to listen to all instructions and be able to talk in a a soft voice at all times.
- Any child who may be overwhelmed by what they see should be accompanied by an adult.
- Visit will be scheduled for a Wednesday morning (in the summer if that works best) from 9-11am.
