Item Description
Note from the artist.
"When it is midsummer in Sweden, we have bright long nights. It never gets really dark. It is warm and lovely. Everyone feels free and happy. We have celebrated midsummer in Sweden since the Vikings, and we still do, every year. With my painting I want to give the sense of the right of freedom and joy, something all living creatures are entitled to, especially animals.
I painted it in my garden on a Swedish island in the Baltic Sea, called Gotland. The flowers are typical Swedish midsummer flowers, poppy and chicory.
I donated this painting to the Wildlife SOS spring auction to support their amazing work, so they can keep on giving animals that feeling of freedom and joy!"
