Item Description

1959 DeWalt Radial Arm Saw

This massive, all cast iron DeWalt MBF radial arm saw, manufactured in February, 1959 was the finest model made at the time and still holds that same distinction today.

Every single part down to the smallest drive screw has been disassembled and brought back to factory specs including new motor bearings, all of which will deliver trouble-free operation for at least the next half-century or more. Six different paints were used in the restoration of this saw with the thought in mind that authenticity was always at the forefront in terms of build, color and texture. The era correct DeWalt stand is somewhat hard to find these days and I was just lucky snagging it. It too is authentically painted a color compatible with the texture color of the saw. All paints are current spray can Rust-Oleum, should touch ups ever be called for.

They are:

  1. Sea Green Texture
  2. Gloss Sage Green
  3. Gloss Apple Red
  4. Gloss Black
  5. Gloss Clear Coat
  6. Krylon Red paint pen for the raised lettering.

The replaceable, sacrificial insert that sits atop the upper table, and the shelf below are made from 3/4” birch plywood trimmed with a contrasting exotic hardwood, all protected with two coats of varnish.

Identical used models to this fully restored saw consistently sell on eBay for more than the opening bid on this machine.

Add this lovely piece of post war history to your own shop and you’ll be the envy of all your woodworking friends for decades to come.
