Schrader Cellars—An American Classic
2013 Schrader CCS Cabernet Sauvignon, Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, 750ml
(Rated 100 points, Parker)
For more than a decade Schrader Cellars has produced benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon from the most prestigious vineyards in the Napa Valley — notably the first-growth Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville.
With winemaker Thomas R. Brown creating wines known for their vibrant flavor and opulent richness, Schrader Cellars has garnered the highest critical acclaim in the history of American Cabernet Sauvignon production, where their 'no-holds barred' wines represent an excellence that begins in the vineyard and ends in an unparalleled tasting experience.
Here’s what Robert Parker had to say, when he gave the 2013 Schrader CCS, a perfect 100 point score:
“…There is something ethereal about the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS, a wine that I tend to give more perfect scores to than any of the other Schrader offerings. This is clone 4 from a special block of the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, and it always seems to have these incredible, explosive aromatics ranging from blueberry to blackberry to cassis to spring flowers and lead pencil shavings. It’s always one of the more seductive wines early on, with sweet, velvety tannins, a plush, succulent mouthfeel, full-bodied splendor and majestic texture. This is a killer effort of great intensity and presence. Drink it over the next 25-30 years.” --Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
