Art
Item Description
Liese Chavez used the Flemish Technique to create this incredible oil painting. This method was developed in the early 15th Century as a way to achieve visual depth and realism in art. The process involves many layers of increasingly transparent paint, each new glaze of color creating subtle changes in the layers beneath.
Please see www.paintedviolin.com for more information and photos.
About the Artist:
Liese Chavez was raised in Massachusetts but a Colorado transplant since 2000. Her artwork still carries some of the flavor of the East Coast. A Victorain aesthetic and a dry sense of humor always reminds her of home. Liese can be found at Chavez Galelry in Old Colorado City.
