Close to Spain in the Haute-Garonne, Midi-Pyrénées region, there are many desirable day trips as Palaminy is well situated and within an hour drive to downtown Toulouse, Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges Cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the World Heritage Sites of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France), Albi, Carcassonne, Lourdes, and Pyrenees mountain villages. Particularly in the summer months there are many well established and enchanting art and music festivals throughout the area to enjoy.
Chateau de Palaminy is a Renaissance period castle (1560) built on older parts (circa 1300 and 1400). During the summer months, you are invited to use the enormous pool which is believed to be the 2nd largest private pool in France.
Your hosts, Marquis Robert and Marquess Jeanne-Marie de Palaminy, both fluent in English, are enthusiastic historians and art patrons who live in the main chateau section adjoining the rented wing.
