With only 500 acres of vines scattered through the mountains and volcanic outcroppings that characterize the area, Diamond Mountain District is the smallest of Napa's 13 AVAs. Located in the western hills of Napa Valley between St. Helena and Calistoga, Diamond Mountain gets it’s name from the Volcanic obsidian that glitters in it’s soils- and in it's wines. The vineyards of Diamond Mountain are small, intimate, and most are family owned. The wines are made in small lots with a focus on quality and distribution is limited.
Here are 13 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon gems - Mountain Cabs with loads of personality. Representing several vintages, in magnums or 750s, most were sold out to list distribution long ago, and all are vineyard designated. This may be Napa Valley's smallest AVA, but the wines are big and bold!!
These gems would be a welcome addition to any cellar!
