Art
Item Description
Anthony Grieder is an industrial designer and technical illustrator. Carmen was conceived as a way to express the boldness and vitality of the young members of the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, in concert with the history and continuity of the symphony orchestra through the years. The mounting board is Baltic Birch plywood. The violin is pegged to the board with dowels, primed, brush painted and finished by dribbling oil-based enamel over the instrument while tilting the board to achieve the "melting wax" effect.
