Item Description
Vi O'Brien was a local artist schooled and certified to teach Oriental Sumi-e painting and Japanese Sogetsu (flower arranging). Her signature designs included flowers and birds with an insect painted with watercolors in the Oriental brush painting style. This painting is matted and shrinkwrapped in plastic for protection. It measures 19" tall x 15" wide. Vi O'Brien received several national awards and taught an international workshop in Italy during the summer of 1986. She lived in Okinawa, Cyprus and New Delhi, India, and traveled extensively. She passed away in 2010 at age 90 and her surviving family would like to share her work for the benefit of SCC students.
