Item Description
Renowned local artist Samuel Smith provides Saturday morning private painting lesson for two.
An early love of art, along with early training, frequenting museums as a child, and a fascination with design and color, led to an offer of a full Scholarship in the Fine Arts to begin College. My time as a Major in the Fine Arts at Utah State University and BYU (after which a minor degree was completed and a BA in Liberal Arts obtained at USU) provided exposure and mentoring with a broad range of Artists. More recent additional influences from Kathryn Stats, Brian Blood, Trent Gudmunsen, Kevin Courter, Mike Malm, and especially Matt Warren- all who have influenced my work and are friends to whom I owe thanks. It is also worth mentioning that the beautiful landscape work of Paul Ferney, Peter Fiore, Bill Cramer, and Wolf Kahn have all been immensely inspiring. Likewise, I owe much to the encouragent and support of my wife, Kristen Carte-Smith, who was a fellow Art Major at BYU and with whom I travel the world to study and enjoy art and host workshops.
