Why Carrick-on-Shannon?
Clenahoo House is located in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, which is also known as the “Inland Waterways Capital of Ireland,” approximately 2 hours northwest of Dublin. In 2010, Carrick-on-Shannon won the prestigious Gold medal in the Entente Florale Europe Competition, an international competition organized by the Association Européenee du Fleurissement et du Paysage (A.E.F.P.) to select those towns and villages that promote a greener and more pleasant environment for both inhabitants and visitors. There were 12 European countries that participated in the competition that included England, France, and Germany.
