2006 Alexander Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

There are few places better suited for Cabernet Sauvignon than the Alexander Valley, which is why it's become our signature wine. Warm summer days tempered by morning coastal fogs combine to help create a refined Cabernet that is at once approachable upon release, yet with the fortitude to develop with time. The 2006 is the result of a roller coaster year that meant smaller yields than we experienced the previous year. Yet it also brought a wine with richer colors and better balance. In the glass, the 2006 Estate Cabernet displays big aromas of black cherry, cassis, cocoa powder and plum and flavors of cassis, black cherry and plum along with soft, integrated tannins. This is certainly a great wine to serve with beef, whether braised short ribs or a Tuscan steak rubbed with olive oil and rosemary.

2013 Joel Gott No. 815 Cabernet Sauvignon

The Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon has aromatics of roasted blue fruit, sweet blackberry and cherry cola with hints of graham cracker and vanilla. The wine enters with dark, concentrated fruit on the palate, velvety tannins on the mid-palate, followed by a long, vibrant finish.

In the late 1930s, our Grandfather, Irv Bliss, was drawn to Mendocino County by its beautiful rolling hills and unspoiled land. Years later, Irv heard of a Mendocino property for sale. He gathered all his savings and headed to the auction to bid on the property sight unseen. As fate would have it, the land Irv purchased was the original 450 acre ranch that captivated him. Sixty years later, we carry Irv's love for the land through our fourth generation of family farmers. We celebrate the land Irv passed on to us by showcasing the rich fruit we grow on our property and putting our own Bliss into every bottle of wine we produce.
