Item Description
I purchased this book in 2000 and it has remained wrapped and unopened since that time and is in pristine condition.
The cover of this book , a photo of the mural at Wat Luang, in Luang Prabang, Laos, is a fitting symbol for a book of the first ever collection of Lao short stories to be published in English.
Outhine explores his own memories with this book, Mother’s Beloved, in a collection of 14 short stories. The collectiom in this book marked his debut for an American audience. Outhine explores the passions and foibles of ordinary people, their conversations and disappointments revealing the subtle textures of Lao culture. The tragedy of the war and environmental degradation are themes deeply embedded through out the book.
This item will be shipped wrapped , in a box, by insured post with shipping charged to the buyer and variable depending upon destination.
