For the past 2.5 years, foie gras had disappeared from California menus, and its clandestine enjoyment was confined to the private homes of its loyal fans. Despite the ban being lifted, you will still find no better way to enjoy this masterpiece of decadence than in this exquisite foie gras dinner for 6 prepared by ISTP parents, Véronique and Boris Micha.
Véronique has earned a reputation in the school for her elegant creations of French dishes, verrines and spoons. In their Menlo Park home, she will begin an unforgettable evening with a nod to tradition, serving her classic French dishes around foie gras. In full style and flare, your sommelier, Boris, will uncork beautiful red wines of the Bordeaux, Sauternes and Alsace regions as Véronique unfolds a mouthwatering line up including (brace yourselves) crême brulée of foie gras, exotic candied foie gras mousse, terrine of foie gras armagnac-fig, and escalope of foie gras.
Prepare to elate your palate with unimagined indulgence, as you discover the diversity and true art of this French delight. You and your lucky 5 guests will continue to enjoy a phenomenal tasting of French cheeses, carefully paired with a fine red trio of Grand Cru vintages from 1998 to 2002. Finally, your culinary journey will conclude with a divine chocolate mousse cake accompanied with delicate French champagne.
