Item Description
This Ganesh mixed media painting was inspired by several statues I have in my home, and from research on classic Ganesh figures.
Message from the Artist: “Saving elephants and raising awareness of their unsustainable situation has become my life’s work, and therefore my art. They are in my heart so deeply now, that my brush has become the tool with which I express this love and anguish. May all elephants be free, happy and safe and honored as the beautiful sentient beings that they are. My goal with each piece is to elevate the viewer to a place of awareness and beauty, and thereby inspire action.
I have been drawn to the image of Ganesh for many years, and have several statues in my home. He is known as the remover of obstacles, and if I could call upon him to remove all obstacles to the welfare, thriving, freedom and happiness of elephants, I do so. When I painted this piece I knew it’s mission would be to raise awareness about the plight of temple and begging elephants. Any animals used for tourism and entertainment are suspect, as they are often tortured and brutally broken. Please question these practices in your travels, and do not support them.
I am thrilled to be able to help Wildlife SOS with this piece."
