Item Description
The Irondale Project is an experimental theater group whose work includes theater, education, and outreach.
The 1599 Project is inspired by James Shapiro's book A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare. 1599 is the year Shakespeare wrote Henry V, Julius Caesar, As You Like It, and the final draft of Hamlet. Irondale's epic staging of the work takes audiences on a giant mythic journey that combines intimate, streamlined productions of these four iconic plays while telling the story of one archetypal, epochal character who, under various guises, is reincarnated from one play to the next, journeying from idealistic triumphant ruler to besiedged outsider hurtling toward a chaotic demise.
Item Special Note
Show runs from April 25th to May 28th.
