Mr D's Music Club is a multi-award winning, movin' groovin', shakin, super fun, music, dance, arts & crafts summer camp for boys and girls of all abilities. Ages 8-13.

2016 Dates & Themes:

June 13-17 - “Off to the Movies”

We just can’t escape this theme, but only because there are so many amazing songs in movies. We all know the importance of a soundtrack in movies, but do we ever truly appreciate how music pushes the emotions as the images flash by? Well, this week we do! Picking from new releases to oldies but goodies, we bring in a whole new song list each year celebrating the power of music in the cinema. 

July 11-15 - “One-Hit-Wonders”

Where are they now? At Mr. D’s Music Club, of course. Come celebrate those catchy, tear inducing, hypnotic, goofy success stories we call one-hit-wonders. Traveling through the decades we’ll sing and dance to only the best of the best single hits by bands you vaguely remember and others you’ve never heard of. Once you hear those opening notes you’ll be walking down memory lane, humming along and even throwing in a few dance steps as you reconnect to those long lost hits. 

July 18-22 - David Bowie Week "Let's Dance"
Celebrating one of the greatest pop artists of all time! David Bowie has been a creative inspiration for millions over the decades and this is our week of paying tribute to one of our favorite pop artists. The sheer volume of his is work is inspiration enough, not to mention the diversity of style, but also his killer pop songs and the many incredible covers that have been produced from other artists. It’s going to be an awesome week! So come on, Let’s Dance. 

August 3-7 - “Flora and Fauna”

Living in a city, it’s often difficult to get the kids out to nature. Not saying this week’s theme is a substitute to those weekend hikes you have to battle the kids to do, but it’s our way of embracing the natural world. With a creative and eclectic song list we’ll be singing about the plants and animals that make our world so amazing and beautiful. Reminding us to reconnect with the natural world and get away from the city lights once in awhile.

August 17-21 -  Decades: The Noughties (2000's)

Each year we choose a different decade. We’ve done the 60’s, 70’s 80’s and 90’s so guess what…it’s time to do the 2000’s, otherwise know as the Noughties. We can’t bring ourselves to say “The Noughties” so for now we’re going with the “Two Thousands”.  Yes, it was 7 years ago…ancient history, but so many great songs!
