Item Description

Primpin Lady in the Mirror is a textured jewel. This remarkable piece on a lovely lady readying herself for a night out on the town is a distinct deviation from the norm for Bay Area Artist Nannette Harris. Harris is known for her Blue People Series.

She creates using oil paint / recycled oil paint and acrylic metallic’s   She is called the “Green artist that paints “Blue People”.

She has been recycling oil paints since 1993. She gets an enjoyment out  watching the paints grow into mounds of hard colors and the recycled oil paint has allowed her to sculpt the hair on the characters she paints. She helps save our environment by never throwing away any paint but being creative and re-using it.

"My vision was in a dream I was given to paint people from inside out using primary colors Blue, red and yellow;

  Blue is for the vein of life
Red is for the blood of life
Yellow is for the aura and energy of life
We all are the same inside our skin.  The universe which surrounds us, the sky and the water are blue. I believe that black radiates when used with color. I enjoy using the negative space, a touch of cubism, texture and geometric shapes in my paintings.
