Winner will receive 2 Tutoring Sessions from My Own Personal Teacher.  2 hours of reading or writing support with Robyn Schaefer, founder and lead teacher of My Own Personal Teacher.  If your child could use a boost with literacy skills (decoding, fluency, comprehension, handwriting, spelling), this is the item for you. Robyn is a Reading Specialist, CPS Literacy Coach, and former classroom teacher of 10 years. Sessions are customized specifically for your child's needs and can be held at a public library, coffee shop, or your own home. For children ages 4-12.

Let's face it.  Your child can have an incredible classroom teacher and still not get the attention he or she deserves.  We understand far too well how classroom teachers strive to meet every child's learning needs, yet struggle to do so with the demands that come with teaching 25-35 kids at a time.  As classroom teachers, we've asked ourselves regularly, "Just how high could these students achieve if they truly had the proper attention?"  Some children just need an extra boost they simply can't get in a whole-class environment. A personal teacher can provide that boost.

Personal teachers are available to address the specific learning needs of your child.  We are mobile teachers that will meet with you and your child in a location of your convenience (public libraries, coffee shops, your own home) to provide supplemental services to classroom learning. Our teachers are experienced, highly-motivated, enthusiastic individuals that have a great rapport with kids.  

A free initial interview and consultation will guide our time spent with you. We do not have "canned" lessons...we simply know good teaching and will use our expertise to help you.  We can focus on skills that you would like your child to build or ones brought to your attention by a classroom teacher. However, our instruction is responsive.  We will determine and adjust your child's needs over time.
