Item Description
Stoneware Ewer Randy Schutt
This stoneware ewer is food and microwave safe. It holds 5 cups of liquid and the spout does not dribble after pouring. The interior pattern and color symbolize the warm energy within us.
Item Special Note
My work explores the overlapping process of Tai Chi and ceramics. Both mediums demand being grounded, centered and still. The combination of Tai Chi and ceramics processes leads to a symbolic interior space where inner development takes place. A door presents a question, mystery and a call to journey inward. Behind the door is a place the user/viewer can find space to pause, reflect and commune. My hope is the user/viewer will seek out the answers to the questions, overcome life's obstacles, bathe in the mystery and find peace.
Randy Schutt is an artist and teacher living in St. Paul, Minnesota. Randy has been teaching at Creative Arts High School in drawing, painting, ceramics and Tai Chi since 1999.
