Item Description

This lot includes a Campbells Merchant Prince Rare Rutherglen Muscat from Victoria Australia that the winemaker describes as, “the pinnacle, the richest, most complex and complete wine. Raisined sweetness explodes on the front of the palate. Complex nutty flavors flow through the full length of the palate and the drying tannin finish lingers for many minutes. Fruit is left to ripen on the vine until as late as possible to ensure the necessary high degree of lusciousness. Juice is fermented for only a very short time before being fortified with neutral spirit and stored in oak to mature. Only the very best fruit from the finest vintages is used in the blend.” Also included, a bottle of Jorge Ordonez Malaga #2 Victoria from Spain rated 95 points by The Wine Advocate who explains, “The 2012 Victoria No. 2 is made from 100% Moscatel de Alexandria and contains 10% alcohol. It is a selection of fruit from the family’s finest north-facing, high-altitude vineyards. A gorgeous bouquet of caramelized apricots, peach jam and tropical fruits soars from the glass of this sweet (258 grams of residual sugar per liter) Moscatel. The low alcohol, great acidity, and super purity as well as texture make this a killer effort. Another sensational buy as well as a rarity, it should age for many years.” And finally, also from Spain a 1996 Olivares Dulce Monastrell a late-harvest Monastrell from the oldest parcels on the estate that will pair well with chocolate desserts or a cheese plate.
