Item Description
Spend a delightful Saturday evening exploring the flavors of the Persian empire in a historical and beautiful North Berkeley home. Originally built in 1916 and one of the few houses to survive the great Berkeley fire of 1923, the home of EB parents Sara Rahimian and Christopher Harrelson was designed by James Plachek, the architect behind the North Berkeley and Central public libraries. Discover the beautifully renovated space—which has preserved the original design and character of the house, while being adapted to modern living needs—as you prepare to indulge in the flavors of Iran.
Enjoy Persian style roast chicken with barberry sauce, savory veal and green bean stew, and the favorite tachin, Persian layered rice. Be sure to snag some of the tah-dig (the prized crispy bottom layer) before it disappears! Your group of ten will be sure to enjoy this captivating evening. Nooshe jan! Bon appétit !
