Item Description
Lesley Galton (16th September 1940 - 18th July 2015) was an artist who was passionate about all wildlife and had a deep love for elephants!
Inspired by India and its rich wildlife, she enjoyed many journeys there to admire, photograph, paint and draw. This stunning picture, created by graphite pencils, was inspired by seeing a baby elephant chasing after its mother in India.
In one of the artist's last conversations with her daughter, she commented on how it now made her think of Peanut, the youngest elephant rescued in the Herd of Hope at Wildlife SOS.
