Item Description
A beautiful handmade/designed floorcloth done in a damask pattern in the husky colors. Approx. 31" x 46" in size.
Originating in the 1600's in Europe, floorcloths are the earliest form of floor covering. Today they are making a comeback to to their longevity, ease of maintenance, design and hypo-allergy factors.
Generously donated by NL Pastor Design.
Item Special Note
To clean, simply sweep or vacuum the piece. If any dirt should appear, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent. A soft brush maybe used for tougher stains. Floorcloths are meant for interior use only! And should be used on hardwood or flat tile floors. Do not use on top of existing carpet as this will create cracks in the paint with the degree of cushioning. There are foam squares to the corners to avoid slippage, however it should be noted that you should purchase a quality pad to add comfort underfoot (no thicker than 1/16"). As you wouldn't subject a framed painting to moisture, the floorcloth should also be treated in the same manner. Although varnish has been applied, spills should be cleaned up right away. With regards to storage: flat is preferred, however a second choice is to roll up (6" diameter minimum). Never fold the piece as the paint will surely crack.
