Item Description

The Koi has a very long history in Asia. In Japan, it is prized for its beauty but more importantly for the qualities it symbolizes: good fortune, prosperity, longevity, and perseverance.
The Koi collage is the result of the CP-B class efforts. All the children began by punching out origami papers into circles, which were then applied to the a wood board to create the design of the carp. From Japanese newspapers, origami papers, as well as Japanese Pocky snack bags the class created this beautiful work of art with character and beauty. It was made with much love by Ms. Emilie Bernard and all her students, all of whom have personally signed in katakana Japanese, on the back of the art piece.
