Item Description
Enjoy dinner provided by the MCS Food Program and a guided wine pairing for up to 6 guests at The Vine Collective or up to 10 guests in your home!
Wines will be introduced by MCS alumna Katell Pleven '76. Dinner will be provided by Amanda Hallowell, MCS Food Program Coordinator.
The evening will include:
- 3 signature white wines
- 3 signature red wines
- Dinner for up to 6 guests
A native New Yorker, Katell received her BA in Dramatic Arts and Literature from Hampshire College. She spent many years as a working actress in NYC appearing as a regular on shows such as "The Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns" as well as in feature films. She found herself, like most NY actors, working in the restaurant world as well. This is where she fell in love with food and wine and eventually left the acting profession to enroll in the Hospitality Department of New York City University Technical College. Later, she began her serious study of wine by enrolling in the Master of Wine program with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust.
The Vine Collective is a wholesale wine import and distribution company that is comprised of professionals who strive for excellence, integrity and professionalism every day.
Since our founding days, food has played an important role in the MCS program and been one of many shared pleasures of the community. Amanda Hallowell, head cook at Nebo Lodge and an MCS parent was recently hired as MCS' Food Program Coordinator to oversee our school's transition to West 85th Street. She has a passion for making healthy, fresh, locally-sourced food available to all and encouraging a slow, whole foods approach to cooking and eating.
Item Special Note
- Dinner and Wine Pairing must be redeemed by June 24, 2016
- Date to be arranged with Katell and Amanda based on their availability
- For up to 6 people, the wine pairing and dinner can be held at The Vine Collective office located at 330 W 38th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues
- For more than 6 people (or if you prefer), the wine pairing and dinner can be held at your home or location of choice (within the 5 boroughs or parts of New Jersey that are visible from Manhattan)
