- Item Number
- 162
- Estimated Value
- 250 USD
Item Description
From Oregon's own Pendleton Woolen Mills comes a true collector's item: the Sacred Pipe Legendary Blanket, a design which is no longer being made.
The blanket design commemorates the Native American Indian Peace Pipe, which is featured in the center with the smoke ascending upwards. The stem of the sacred pipe is inlaid with silver and turquoise designs, while the brown and white feathers are of the Hawk and Eagle. The four main blanket colors represent humankind. The diamonds at the bottom symbolize a French peace belt, and the tree represents harmony.
No prayer or ceremony takes place without the Sacred Pipe. According to legend, the breath of the Great Spirit rises upwards to a connection with the Spirit World and Our Creator through the smoking of the sacred pipe.
Each Legendary Blanket carries a handsome suede commemorative patch describing its heritage.
